Overview

Bush daisy is a rounded evergreen flowering shrub with finely divided gray-green foliage and cheerful yellow daisy flowers.

Mature Size and Habit

It generally reaches 3 to 4 feet tall and wide, developing a dense mound when lightly pruned.

Best Landscape Uses

Use it in sunny borders, foundation beds, containers, or repeating masses for cool-season color.

Sunlight

Full sun is best for dense growth and abundant flowers.

Soil, Drainage, and Irrigation

Plant in sharply drained soil. Once established it handles short dry periods better than wet, poorly aerated beds.

Best Planting Season for Tampa and Central Florida

Fall through early spring is ideal in Tampa, allowing strong flowering before the wettest summer weather.

Pruning and Maintenance

Deadhead or lightly shear after bloom flushes and remove weak interior growth. Replace declining plants when summer heat and humidity reduce vigor.

Wildlife Value

The flowers attract bees and butterflies.

Cold and Heat Sensitivity

It enjoys mild Florida winters but may decline during prolonged summer heat, humidity, and heavy rain. Hard freezes can damage stems.

Safety, Roots, and Placement Warnings

No major toxicity, thorn, or aggressive-root concern is commonly reported.

Invasive Concerns

It is not native to Florida and is not generally considered invasive in maintained landscapes.
