UF/IFAS Details Native Woodland Restoration at Carrollwood Village Park

UF/IFAS Extension Hillsborough County’s Carrollwood Village Park project report describes restoration of 1.1 acres of woodland with county parks staff and volunteers. At the February 8, 2026, workday, crews removed approximately 89 invasive trees and 2,100 pounds of material.
Removed plants included Brazilian pepper, Chinese tallow, camphor, Caesar’s weed, and skunk vine. The report, published February 23 and updated April 10, outlines native replanting planned for November 2026. It illustrates how removing invasive vegetation supports the return of native habitat.
